To Judge Or Not To Judge? [Part 1]

Nov 09

GFR Cover ImageOn this week’s show Pastor Joe talks about a subject that comes up quite often with discernment ministries… the issue of judging. As Christians, are we suppose to judge? What types of judgments are we suppose to make according to scripture? We will explore this topic on this week’s show, as well as on next week’s show, and find out what scripture has to say on this topic. Joining Pastor Joe to discuss this topic is Tony Palacio, another member of the Good Fight Ministries team.

  1. It is the abuse of alcohol and drunkenness which is condemned in the bible (Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Isaiah 5:22-23, Proverbs 23:20-21, and many more). However, we must also be responsible if/when we choose to drink alcohol. We must be sensitive to those around us and make sure we are not causing another to stumble in any way (eg. it is wise to ask others in our company if drinking a beer or a glass of wine will stumble them in any way). It is always better to err on the side of caution in this regard. To those who would argue that it is okay to drink because they did so in the bible, while true, we must remember that their wine was very watered down and not distilled in the same way as it is today. Today’s alcohol is much stronger. In summary, it is an issue which should not be taken lightly and we should seek the Lord on all matters. Everyone’s tolerance is different, and everyone’s temptations are different, so we must be honest before the Lord when making decisions that could possibly have negative ramifications… to ourselves and/or to others. We hope that helps. God bless.

God bless you and your ministry brother. I have a question about drinking alcohol. I know the bible condemns drunkenness. But is really wrong to drink 1 or 2 beers or have a little wine? Even with anyone at that matter. I love your website and trust your discernment! I have been delivered from a past lifestyle of drugs and alcohol by the power of the blood. I just want truth because I don’t want to be condemned or condemn anyone in Christ who has a beer every now and then. Thank you!
